Jimmy Martin

I am always interested in taking on new projects and would love the opportunity to share my knowledge with others interested in Podcasting. Contact me for coaching, editing or if you and/or your band would like to be featured on The JimmyFro Show

“The Jimmy Fro Show ... has provided insight into where artists are coming from and the tools to help them get where they are going. ...having the privilege of being featured as a guest, Jimmy’s interviews are witty and insightful, taking the conversations well beyond music.”

I was born and raised in Warren, Ohio and over the years of performing in garages and bars, I made a lot of musician friends. An artist myself jamming around NE Ohio, I was a part of several bands going all the way back to elementary school… including concert band, marching band, jazz band, YSU Dana Choir, and the Black Sabbath tribute band, Rat Salad. I also lived in NYC for 3 years before returning to Ohio to form the band Malison Frown. All of this experience, and passion for music, has produced  a big pile of knowledge to draw from  and pay forward to aspiring artists.

So… I started a Podcast, The JimmyFro Show, a non-profit, independent artist focused show, with the intention to showcase the many talented local musicians and bands right here in NE Ohio. Many well-known artists have graced my microphone with their presence. It has featured high-profile area artists such as CoinmonsterRed Wanting Blue and Left End; as well as national acts Pearl and the BeardExtra Medium Pony, The Multiple Cat, and notable contemporary acts Spirit of the Bear and Downlows.

Through this experience, and working with Josh Roman at MindRocket on shows like Speaking of Music, I honed my podcast editing skills. I also lent my skills to such podcasts as Here We Are and Never Seen It… both part of the Starburns Audio family.
